Shot-Peening Equipment

Mandatory Bulletins are regularly introduced by the original component manufacturers to allow safe operation of their products. Hartzell Propellers have introduced another application that is required during overhaul.

The shot-peening of the propeller blade end has been mandatory since November 2003. To date the work has been sub-contracted to another company.

It is the intention of the Deltair Directors to introduce the equipment to Waterlooville to allow our propeller workshop team to carry out this process in-house and thereafter to apply for the approval to carry out this work.

A detailed costing of the equipment and the training required is now taking place. The Hartzell Commercial Director has given an undertaking that any application for this approval by Deltair will be given a high priority.
